If you are seriously want to learn a language , there is no tips and hints for you. Learn from the beginning , study with you willpower instead of jealous other people. If someone laughs at you , let them be. Because you are improving , enriching and revaluing yourself. No one can judge on you , the biggest enemy is the one inside you , not the outsider can consider upon you.
If you really put yourself in serious stage , keep on reading. 🙌🙌
To compare with my family members , I am the worst one at home. I keep on reminding myself I have to improve it. Initially , I read books and novel. You can choose our neighborhood's story books. I read James Lee's novel. It is simple and understandable. Almost one year later , I try to read New York bestseller books. Before that I need a week to finish a book but now within three days I can finish it all.

Reading articles and newspapers are important. I read English books nowadays , a week a book. Frankly speaking , I have fed up Chinese book ( because of the plain and bored story line ) .
The people who surround me keep whispering about " my English is poor and I only can use broken / slang English. " Eradicate the bad habits , face squarely of the problem and correct the mistake.
Maybe you will say that " it is impossible for me to do because I am getting old. " Hello , you just turn into 20 year old and you call that old ? Don't make this kind of funny joke , if you think that way , we can't do anything.
Not only reading is important , writing is also a way to faster your study. Apparently I have to write four blog posts in every month. This is my task lol ( my hobby ). Maybe you don't write blog , never mind you still have other ways to help you. For example , Facebook posts , Twitter posts or Instagram posts , write those words in English language. Or you can text with your friends with English. Remind that please use formal English if you really want to improve it.
You will realise that it isn't difficult as what you think. Break through the barriers , initially it might be tough , when the time you can manage it , it would be easy.
Watching movies / drama / anime with English subtitles. Honestly tell , I really watch every anime in English subtitles , despite that some time there are some of the words that might be you don't know , I will search English dictionary or google for the meaning. My brother did tell me before , after you went to outside , English would be your main language. He downloaded every anime in English subtitles and the most difficult one might be Psycho Pass. But now I have used to , and I can't watch anime in Chinese subtitles but I still read Chinese Light Novel hahahaha.
Okay , speaking is the most difficult skills I can't even manage right now. The people who surround with me , keep using Mandarin. I think English community is still unavailable here. But when I stay outside , it is the chances for me to improve.
Besides I study English language , I also re-study my Chinese Language. I have added on one more language which is Japanese Language. I really love because of ACGN. I have revolved myself avidly in anime community and I really hope that I can speak fluently and accurately in future. Let us work harder to pursue our dream. There is a friend , she loves Korean language and she might further study in Korea. This strong willpower also makes me want to learn well Japanese and I might stay in Japan at least a year because I want holiday working lol.
Listening skill is important , you can improve it by watching western movies , anime dubs or English audio of news. It really brings benefit to you. I have no interest in news so I watch anime dubs and watch western movies , put your ear phone , turn the sound to the largest one if you can't listen clearly. Initially you must have the subtitles with you or you might listen nothing. They speak so fast just like we speak Mandarin here lol. 😆😆😆
I drown myself in the language , because I love to play with those words and knowing a new vocab is a fun things for me. You learn because you want to improve your skills before you enter the society. Love the language.
